Do you seriously need an introduction to Grand Theft Auto? If you do, then frankly you’re not worth helping. The series is the favorite of millions of gamers around the world. Think of everything that Rockstar has done for us, from GTA III to San Andreas to the most recent incarnation of the series.
The games are outright epic in every way. From the massive open-worlds that you can explore at your will, to the bar-raising graphics that each installment of the GTA series brings to the table, no other games come close to achieving what this one does.
GTA V: Smashing it
Rockstar smashed it without mercy with GTA 5. Absolutely knocked it out of the park. The game is just beautifully rendered, with each element of the digital world presented in stunning detail. This makes it greatly satisfying to explore the GTA world.
What makes it even better is the sheer realism of the whole thing. From people walking around beautiful beaches while engrossed in their smartphones to joggers running around in spandex and bicycles getting in the way of traffic. You can go about your daily life, or you can get into a shootout with the police – your call.
Either way, the game is in the top of its league and far surpasses anything that has come since – except maybe Red Dead Redemption 2 – which was also developed by Rockstar using a similar formula to the one used in GTA V.
The game is the first in the Grand Theft Auto series to really break into the online scene. Previous GTA games haven’t used online gaming to its full potential, but GTA V has fully breached the line, making the game one of the most successful online titles ever released.
GTA V Online
With GTA V online, you can create your own character to roam around Los Santos at your will. You’ll be sharing the world with 20 or so other people who can try to kill you at any moment if they choose to. This isn’t always the case, though. Rockstar has taken steps to ensure that players who want to play nice are separated from those who just want to wreak havoc upon the world.
If you just run around randomly killing people and destroying their stuff, then you’ll have to wear a dunce hat for 48 hours and you might even be thrown into a kind of online cesspool where you have to play with all the other assholes. This leaves the good sports to enjoy their world, and the bad eggs to rampage each other in their own little hellhole.
There’s a whole bunch of activities that you can do in GTA V online, including racing, deathmatches, roaming around, chasing your mates in attack helicopters, and a whole lot more. If you’re into open-world gaming and messing around with random people’s lives, then this is the game for you.
GTA V single-player mode
On top of the online mode, there’s also the single-player mode which players can play through the dynamic storyline through the perspective of three different characters. The main characters – Michael, Franklin, and Trevor – couldn’t be much more different from one another, but they’re all involved in the criminal underworld.
Together, these characters will organize a series of heists in banks and other institutions, and then, if you want, reinvest it into the stock market and play the system against itself. The game’s story is worthy of a Hollywood blockbuster.
As you play through it, you’ll get the chance to build complex plans to pull off genius heists and climb the ladder up the criminal underworld of Los Santos.
Unfortunately, you cannot play GTA V on Android or iOS devices – it’s simply too developed to be run on their processing power. If you want to play GTA 5, you’ll have to run it on PC or a console. That being said, with the current rate of technological advancement in the field of mobile devices, we’re willing to bet that we’ll be able to play it on these devices in the next few years.
